Our Practice
Richard and Anne SimpsonMet while studying at the University of California, Irvine. They married in December 1972. They attended optometry school together. Daughter, Holly, was born just after they finished optometry training in June 1978. They served together in the U.S. Army as optometrists at Fort Dix, New Jersey, from 1978 to 1981. They returned to Southern California for private practice in 1981. Their son, Kevin was born in October, 1983. E. Anne Simpson, O.D.Dr. Anne Simpson did her undergraduate work at UC Irvine and graduated summa cum laude with majors in chemistry and biology. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern California College of Optometry in 1978,again graduating summa cum laude as class valedictorian. She spent three years in the Army at Fort Dix, New Jersey then returned to Southern California in 1981 to enter private practice in Ontario. At the same time, she began teaching at Southern California College of Optometry, supervising third year students seeing patients in the Eye Care Center of Fullerton. After several years in the family practice service, she transferred to the vision therapy service, at the same time earning a Master's Degree in education from California State University, Fullerton. She retired from teaching after twenty-three years to concentrate on private practice, where her emphasis is on children's vision and vision therapy. Dr. Simpson is a member of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development, the Optometric Extension Program, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. Richard L. Simpson, O.D.Dr. Richard Simpson did his undergraduate work at UC Irvine, graduating in 1971 with a bachelor's degree in biology. He earned a Master's Degree in Biology and a teaching credential at California State University, Los Angeles, before entering optometry school in 1974. He graduated from the Southern California College of Optometry in 1978, and served in the Army for three years at Ft. Dix, New Jersey. He returned to Southern California in 1981 to enter private practice, where his emphasis has been on contact lenses. In 2002, he started teaching classes part-time at Chaffey Community College in biology,health and medical terminology. Dr. Simpson is a member of America Optometry Association, California Optometric Association and Inland Empire Optometric Society. Michelle A. Duran, O.D.Originally from Santa Fe, New Mexico, Dr. Michelle Duran moved to Southern California in 1988. She worked in various administrative assistant capacities and was working as a publisher's assistant for McGraw-Hill when she made the decision to pursue a career in optometry. She completed her undergraduate studies at California Polytechnic University, Pomona and graduated cum laude with a degree in biology. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern California College of Optometry in 2005. Dr. Duran is a member of the American Optometric Association, the California Optometric Association, and the Inland Empire Optometric Association. |
